79 series handbrake problems

Post by matty savo »

I have a 2003 79 series ute with handbrake issues, I have replaced everything from the drums shoes and cable but yet it will not hold. I have adjusted the shoes up but still nothing. Any help would be great. Cheers

I don't know what these are like but if they built them for the 75 I'd have put this kit in years ago. Your Toyota handbrake will never work very well unless you pull it all apart and clean it EVERY time you go through a bit of a puddle. Shit just gets caught in the drum and then slowly/quickly chews away at the pads/drum.
