mate of mine has just got an 83 or 84 model rangie and we have heard some rumours that you can put 80 series springs in the front and gq's in the rear to give a bit of lift.
can anyone tell if this is true or not???
thanks

not true...
perhaps they were talking about those vehicles shocks... they can be used if looking for longer shocks

I think you mean shocks and you usually do it for travel.
The standard rangie shocks are pretty well spot on, they are not too stiff (like a king spring - makes rangies stand up on their back wheels)

Tell me about it

The Kings actually made my Ranghie worse off-road and the front end stood up constantly, especially with the air locker in!!
This also caused a couple of broken 10 spliners. This was enevitable though with 32 inch MT/R's. The kings are too stiff for Rangie, but LRA have the best rannge of springs available.
Good luck,
Trav

the springs you mentioned should not be any cheaper than ones for a Rangie... give Rangie Spares... a.k.a. Les Richmond Automotive a call... tell him what he you want to achieve with the vehicle and he will recommend a combination of springs to try.
