Hey lads, I'm about to start modifying my crown centre sump to clear the diff pumpkin on my yn67. If any of you guys have some photos or input as to what others have done it would be a great help. I've been of the thinking that a full rear bowl sump would be best as going up a dune or steep incline full noise would prevent it from running dry. Has anyone done this? If so how does it go if not using the strengthening part that bolts to the gearbox? Any info would be a great help, cheers.

Mine is rear sump to work with beam axle .... but it's not a 1UZ.
Best idea is check out the Surf site for some sump mods needed. A rear sump & pickup may make your life a whole lot easier.

Cheers for the input. I ended up doing a little cut and shut on the original sump and it looks like it would work.

Castlemaine Rod Shop make and sell rear sumps for 1uz's, only about $600 and comes with a modified pickup.

Incorrect. I have a celsior engine. They have a front sump, i swapped it for a rear sump off a soarer. As my high steer was not going to fit, i have also cut and reshaped the original lower steel section and pickup to allow clearance for my diff centre.

So much quicker and easier to just buy a complete new rear sump from CRS, bolt it on and job done, no further mods required. Doesnt matter what sump you have to start with either.

How many litres does the crs sump hold? Is it an off the shelf unit or do they make it to your measurements?
