As title, I am after a king pin for my 80 series an cant seem to find anyone that sells them new, havn't tried toyota yet as im betting they charge an arm and a leg so was hoping someone knows where to get an after market one. Cant see a wreckers parting with just a king pin either as they will want to sell the whole knuckle or diff.

Possibly Gosford bolts and bearings, they do the axle rebuild kits, so maybe they will have something.
They are over across from the showground, at Gosford, on Glennie St West.

Otherwise, youll have to go to Mr Yota and get F'ed in the A.

Nope no luck on the kingpin. Good part is he thinks it should be ok. On the other side he gave my old man the wrong bearings :bad-words: an now it wont be fixed till tomorrow an i stuffed one of them seeing if they would work So looks like another 50 bucks.

try the wreckers, if they have a bent diff, they'll be happy to sell whatever they can salvage

King pin will have to wait as i have a busted rear diff or axle now :bad-words: so will be pulling apart in next week or two to find out. Anyone know of a good diff builder on central coast an what to expect to pay if i have new ring an pinion as im sussing out whether to go new or second hand.

If u are paying someone to do it it will be fairly expensive, don't expect much change from $800-1000 for parts and labour (prob cost more) second hand centres will be cheaper if you look around should get one for about $500 mark, but aftermarket gears are stronger and it will be new not a worn centre..

If you are going to build it, normally easier to find someone on outers that's keen for some cash/beer.. I've had 2 centres built so far, 1 a local guy off this site helped me put it together (cost a carton beer + parts)and is still going 3.5years later and 2 a local reputable 4x4 shop built it 600-700 parts plus after a stuff around $800 labour and since then has been rebuilt another 2 times within 1500kms of not hard use...

ive used central coast gearboxes and diffs.
put my airlocker in my carrier, and rebuilt my 4spd cruiser box
not cheap though, but does quality job!! very happy......

if you have time, ring locktup, i got a full kit included upgraded inner axle seals that make the factory ones look like crap, their double the width of toyotas thats for the front knuckles.
king pins dont know. but his worth the call...... do the seals while your at it.

Yeah mate i have done the seals on the front hubs and used the marlin crawler seals that locktup sell and would have to agree they do leave the standard ones for dead. Front knuckles are all back together now with old kingpin as bearing bloke said it should be ok. Central coast bolts an bearings cant recommend them enough.

I agree nate, Gosford bolts and bearings are great to deal with, I go there for my bits and pieces, far better knowledge and service than the guys at North Wyong, even though Wyong is around the corner from me.
Cheaper too.

Had to cut a rooted bearing off it and hacked into it a bit with the angle grinder, that an the pin looks swolen in sections and is a bitch to get off each time.

Unfortunately, people wont usually seperate from a complete diff. As the 80 front diffs are sought after. Unless you find a guy wrecking his truck with a stuffed front housing. I have 4 here, but not willing to seperate aswell.
