What is a "clutch damper" HZJ80 Landcruiser

So my clutch is not returning to the regular position after depressing the pedal - after some googling of the symptoms it seems I have the same problems as "Bugs" from this ExplorOz link.

It talks about the clutch damper being the cause of these issues... I am not a mechanic (far from it), but I am mechanically capable. I have never heard of a Clutch Damper in my many years of vehicle maintenance...

Does anyone have a picture or description? Is it something inside the master cylinder?

I've searched some more and I think I've found it if anyone cares...

problem fixed... gave the entire clutch system a full flush (heaps of crud came out!), new quality fluid and it seems good again.

I do suspect however the clutch master is on the way out - it is 20 years old anyway. I will replace this sometime over the next few weeks..

Do the clutch master and slave together.
