hi all,
my car hasnt been shuttnig of with the key for awhile now i changed all components from the key barrel to the actuator motor with no luck,

all of a sudden today my car decides that the relay in the fule modle wantes to click on and off while the motor is running and driving the acuator forward almost stalling the motor then it clicks off again,
accsonily it even shut off with the key....

so i am assuming this is an electrical short somewere ?? any one point me in the right direction here what coulour wires to look for were they go and so on a diagram would be nice...

any one had this issue before and no what the fix is??

cheers

gday mate. Check the battery to chassis earth, and that the battery terminals are tight ( loosen the terminals take them off, clean the battery posts and refit the terminals). From there i would check the engine to chassis earth. usually on the d/side near the starter on cruisers. It may not fix it. But as a mechanic it is where i would start matey.

Hi, thanks for the reply earths are good to motor/batter/chassis....

seems to idle find untill it gets some heat into it then the oil gage reads 0 and it plays up ....

have tryed disconnecting oil gauge and sensor... problem persists,
unplug edic controller relay box thign problem stops but oil gauge still reads 0
and yes the motor has oil...

My old mans 75 had the same problem turned out to be a dodgy relay not shutting the fuel pump off and a bad earth. When tested his.earth was good but.we ran a second earth cable from battery to.motor then from motor to.battery.and hasn't skipped a beat since.

ill try putting an earth from the baterie to the unit,
i have replaced the relay unit, keybarrel, and edic motor itsself, disconneced and reconneced and cleaned all connections and have had no luck...
