5 link front end

hi guys
ive looked around at the wizard site for the bolt in 5 link kit for the patrol front ends. cant seem to find it anywhere, was woundering if anyone can point e in the direction of where to find what im looking for

your lucky to find anything on the wizard website. better off calling him though i'm pretty sure he does weld on kit. wouldnt mind knowing what they are worth

Hello, Ring Brent at wizard perforance the five link kit is a bolt in kit do not have to weld any thing and the drive like a normal stock front end I have had mine in for 5years to the day and love it!! they are around $2k Cheers Rick.

Liked driving a boat also five link front is very weak broke x2 lower arms and snapped bolts in upper arm brackets was bad on big side angles.The a frame was good only had to adjust the jonny joint about 3 times in 4 years still in my ute when sold it I would buy one again.

thats good to know about the a-frame. thinking about one for the GU wagon... just for something different

Hello my GQ has a five link in the front end and a Aframe in the rear and never had a problem with either never touch or adjusted my Aframe!! I have only bent one lower arm from jumping logs! the early or the first 5links that were made had problems but all sorted out now with double chromoly arms. I run Fabtech 7/8 shaft shocks and my truck drives like a dream and not a boat! all good. I have customers trucks using super flex arms etc and I think they the are dangerous to drive. At 60kms I put my foot down and the truck just pulled you straight off the road to the left. Its just like anything it depends on how you set up your truck to how it drives Cheers Rick.

I have what is supposed to be a Wizzard A Frame in the back of my GQ ute. It snapped in half on lap 3 of the King Of The Rim last year...

Did you ring Brent ???? and ask ???? where did it break on a weld or on a bend ????? I know people that run them in comp trucks and never ever had any problems. because they are ten fold stronger then standard upper arms cheers Rick

That's actually no surprise, I know of at least 3 trucks that took them out due to failure as well as them limiting flex. A std ooff the shelf upgraded top link has way more flex and is stronger.

That's not saying a lot for your fitting skills, and its even more concerning that you send customers cars out if there is another underlying problem.

Sorry to say that, I or we did not fit the lift kits! I work at Nissan as a tech and the cars had come if for other concerns or problems with these trucks I can not tell them that there trucks drive like crap!! they are there pride and joys and this is just my opinion on how they drive compaired to my truck. cheers Rick.

I was under the assumption that if it pulled like that it had more to do with the rear end?

i had a 5 link and a wizard aframe in my old bus. was pretty rolly floaty but that is how i wanted it. it was good when i fitted the sway bars etc and we raced it for 3 years at the allterrain and many many glasshouse, cruiser pk trips. my a frame was great.
IN MY OPINION......the a frame didnt give it any more flex it just seemed to flex easier if that makes sense.

I loved the flex out of the 5 link but as posted earlier the lower arms are a throw away item as they just bent like tooth picks. my mate made me some new ones out of some super kryptonite unobtainiam material and they have been great. sorry i dont know the specific material.
I had adjustable tough dogs and would wind them hard for the road and then back them off for the tracks. wouldnt recommend tough dogs for anything other than land fill though as the shat themselves the first weekend but no warranty on long shock :bad-words: .

this is aframe rear , 5 link front. the front rims were my road rims so they were offset a bit more towards the centre but we had to throw the 37s on for the weekend on them. tyres hit on the steer box and the top coil tower so set up correctly there would be more flex in the front. it would drop to the end of the shocks front and rear no issues and it had rear shocks in the front. hope this helps a bit.

Hay mate your truck looks sh1t hot love the flex using 37s it does not mater how your truck drives it all comes down to what shocks you run to how it handles on the road. I know this is off the topic but I got some 14inch fox coilovers to put in the rear of my GQ wagon, using my 14inch fabtechs as smoothies next to the coilovers not bad for my everyday drive car. will have to start new thead with photos to show how good they work with my Aframe cheers Rick. :)

Shocks dont fix a shit suspension design. They might mask some of the issues though. Suspension geometry has a much bigger effect on handling than what a set of shocks will ever do.

Keen to see a new thead with your photos. Did you have to make any new mounts for the coilovers or the smoothies ?
