air shock advice

Ive got a 80 series tourer. Mostly unloaded but loaded up when actually touring. Was looking at the fox remote res 2.0. But not much difference in price for airshocks. I run fairly soft coils in my truck and was wondering if air shocks would be better as when Im touring I can charge them higher and hopefully help stop the back from sagging under the weight and help with body roll (5" no front sway bar). Can you do that? Will it work?

Sorry, should have put air shocks with coils. Not interested in air bags, unless you have a 5 link its all useless.

Why do you want an air shock with a coil? You would only need a regular shock

I wanted best of both worlds. Good shocks when im not touring and light. And was hoping to increase the psi of the nitrogen when touring to make that nice aswell. And also get rid of some bodyroll and aid the coil spring rate. Chris said he has done it before on his hilux. But ive also found out that air shocks with get HOTTTT...

Air shocks arent really designed for that sort of thing. you would be better off with a good nitrogen shock and decent coils.
Air shocks are normally used in slow speed lighter weight stuff often without a coil at all. i think they would be far too stiff and would heat up real quick on a rough road

A modified remote res 2.5 air shock would be fine for touring.... ;)
