Ok I'm looking at building a bigger intake plentum for my GQ TD42 turbo. I was looking at a mates injected petty and thought I wonder if that would fit? So I am wondering if anyone has ever tried putting a TB42E intake manifold on the diesel and weld up the injector ports.
If anone has done this what were your results, good?, bad?
Cheers Gary...

Machine the top off the factory TD manifold ( search for swaffie ).The factory manifold can be modified for rather surprising results....

pretty sure the TB42 has different shaped ports. If it was that easy we wouldnt be milling the tops off manifolds and making jigs to hold them straight while welding them.
theres a few places that do them, beware if DIY and you dont do it right they will eventually crack.
By not doing it right I mean too big with large flat areas not braced and/or poorly welded.
mine was a simple centre fed 3mm ali box about 90mm high the width of the manifold from the front/rear edge of ports 2 and 5, we made 180+rwkw through it. Some people get rather involved with the design which cant hurt but the benefits are marginal compared to the effort once you get that restrictive log opened up. theres a few threads around the web.
