Hi
In the market for a TJ wrangler for the missus, want to spend around 15 - 18 grand. Just want to know for things to look out for while searching, common issues etc.
I have alot of experience with patrols and cruisers but never played around with a Jeep.
Cheers
Josh

Do you want it stock, slightly modded, or full on?
Will it be used off road, if so how hard?
Typical issues are due to lack of maintenance or abuse, like all 4wds. Engines generally are bulletproof, transfer cases are hard to damage with 33's or under, gearboxes are generally ok.
The front diff is a weak link if going bigger rubber, or if you jump it off road ie sand dunes etc where it will bend easily.
If more than an inch or so of lift best to fit a slip yoke eliminator kit on the rear tail shaft due to a short shaft and increased angles once lifted.
They have some minor issues other than that which seem to pop up from time to time.
But generally, they are under rated off road, particularly by cruiser and patrol owners.
There are an unlimited amount of components available to build them up..... All over the net, or using local outlets like Wooders Garage in Sydney.
