Custom fuel cells SE Qld

Post by brooksy »

I am wanting a custom fuel cell made for Lux winch truck. Looked into RCI, Jaz, etc but none of the sizes are suitable.

Would it be possible to make your own and just fill it with the foam that they use? I know they sell the fuel cell foam online and its not overly expensive

I think Mick wants an aluminium cell rather than sheet metal. Might give PWR a call & see what they say .

is there any reason you can't use a collapsible fuel bladder like those found in boats? Or alternatively even a largish' boat tank. At least that will have a vent system etc.

If you went the bladder route you could run an alloy fuel cell, then bladder, then foam. Run 2 x Walbro pickups and you're set.

How does rego go with that though as it still needs to be for winch comps ?

By the way, on the subject of alloy fabrication, if you come across any good second hand AC/DC TIG machines for sale i'm after one. Would prefer something with a bit of higher end specs like foot pedal, ac balance and upslope/downslope etc.

Soz

Should have type a bit more info.

I know MR Sheet Metal have made alloy tanks for winch trucks before, so it may be worth a call to Sheety and see what he can cook up for you.
