Im looking at upgrading the pump on my duramax to run a winch as well (get some serious sized pumps) and need to know if there is a limit that the GU steering box can handle?

What pressure did the TD power steering pump put out?

If you're worried then just put in a pressure bypass valve. Have a chat to a hydraulics place and they'll have it sorted in no time. That way you can run what ever size you want.
