Clutch Issue??

Ever since i picked the 80 (1HDT) up from tassie it has had a rattle coming from the clutch area, now i know 99% of u are going to say its the throw out bearing.. i can guarantee u that its not that... heres the story.........
So as u let the clutch out (does it worse from a take off due to more load) and the clutch JUST starts to grip i get a VERY loud rattle, sounds sorta like a bunch of rocks getting rattled round in a tin... but worse... now this rattle continues until the clutch has fully gripped (so from about 1/4 pedal out to 3/4).
Now a week ago my gearbox finally died (H151f) and so i figured that maybe it was the input shaft bearing or something like that that had caused the noise.
Now i had suspected that maybe it was the springs in the clutch pressure plate causing the noise, but after the box died i dispelled that theory.
So i got a new box and installed it on the weekend, checked the throw out bearing and its like new, now the box i put in drives AWESOME, now rattles and no syncro crunching at all!!! BUT the noise remains!!!!!
So im back to thinking about the clutch again, im thinking its those little springs in the pressure plate causing it...
anyone had an issue like this b4? I talked to a mate at toyota in hobart and they did have and issue with a 105 and it sounds the same and it was the clutch, but it was an aftermarket clutch that caused it...
I had a quick gander at the clutch in mine and it is brand new factory toyota one.. ( i know its new as the car was my mates and the workshop that fitted it was another good mates)
So in the cupboard I have a custom built clutch for Cranky which i was thinking of fitting to the 1hdt, the clutches between the petrols and factory td's are the same? they both run r151f's so it sound fit?
SUMMARY: It has a slight chatter in neutral, the only noticable time it makes the noise is when the clutch is taking up, the noise is best described as a "chatter". clutch is a new toyota unit (new 10k old), new box didnt affect the noise
