I was wondering if 5.29s came at all with an e-locker. I know that there were some odd ball ratios for the hilux so i was wondering if maybe someone new if this setup exists from toyota. I would really love to have a part number to get one with.

by E locker do you meen elec or ome, I had 5.29's with Lock-Rites front and rear in the 80 and had no problems besides the crook highway revs, so we just didn't go for looooong drives, helped with the 38's but you can't drive to Yamba on boggers
went well around town on 35's

should be able to swap 5.29 gears into a toyota e-locker... air locker is an easier swap but ptobably not cheaper in USA.

What I was looking for was toyota setup 5.29s in an elocker and was wondering if they came that way in any thing. I wanted that part number so i could just go order one from the dealership.

if it's for your '83 SR5 then I don't think E-lockers were around then
try asking at your local Toymotor dealer, get onto their parts listings & ferret through them, they might not have been avavilable for truck in the U.S. but may have been on option in say Japan
have you looked on allprooffroad
they have plenty of gear for lux's

G'day hbar314
I am agent for some group in Oz (below) but highly recommend yoy actually talking to the fellas in the US. Try speaking to:
Chris at MarlinCrawler - 559 252 7295
Eric at All Pro Offroad - 909 658 7077 (i think he has a E-locker in his Hilux).
Dave at Polyperformance - 805 783060
Randy at AOR - 970 263 4300 (might have a E locker in his truck too)
They all have 5.29 gears & airlockers available.
Hope this helps
Cheers Sean

Rod666: Yeah i know they werent around but i will do that modification on my housing to run it.
Spazbot: Yeah i remember reading that about the early axles. This is why i was asking the question. Its hard to see a 4.88 factory setup none the less something lower.
Inchworm has them for about $1300us (elocker with 5.29s)
mczook: Thank you for taking the time to give me those names and numbers. What i was really hoping for was that I could find a part number for a factory elocker with 5.29s so i could get it from the dealer. I will be able to get a discount at the dealer and was hoping that they offered lower then 4.88s. Do you know of anyplace in japan i could look?

Not sure of a part number but will ask around, however I do know that toyota's original gear cutter, cuts the gears for All Pro Offroad and MarlinCrawler so maybe there is a possibility that toyota is willing to sell the gear set as an option.
