Didnt know if you had seen these yet. I wish i didnt already have longs. These look so cool. Long did it again.

Quote
We have went as far as we can go with the birfield material we are currently using today.

It's become obvious that we need more strength in a Toyota front axle now that they are coming out with transfer cases that allows you to do front wheel digs in competition, hard core trails and larger tires.

1- This Longfield is made from 4340 chromoly. The bell is longer for added
strength.

2- The inner race and cage is a completely different and stronger design
made from 4340 chromoly and also made longer for added strength. This
new design is much stonger at full turn.

3- The balls are smaller to give the bell and inner race added thickness.

4- The inner axle is also made from 4340 chromoly. It is now 30 splines at
both ends. We also eliminated the big snap ring groove. No martack
need, these inners will come with the c-clip in place on the very end of
the axle that snaps into the Longfield. This c-clip snaps inside the race
to prevent the inner axle from sliding either direction.

5- If you noticed this new Longfield is designed to increase your turning
radius by tapering the Longfield on the inside of the bell. So the inner
axle does not come in contact with the bell and bind. These
Longfields will turn up to 48 degrees.

6- All these parts are properly heat treated and cryogenically processed
from the supplier to assure us of wearability and added strength.

This 30 Spline Super Set will sell for a low price of $635.00 for all 4 pieces delivered right to your door.

That's some awesome news!

Don't know how you will achieve 48deg of lock without touching the axle housing inside of the knuckle though.

For another alternative you should check out Dan Bell's Bellfields and keep and eye/ear out for soon to be launched Polyperformance's new CV & axle combos! "From all accounts they will be the shit"

So what is going to be the next week link? Im hoping its going to be the aisin Free wheeling hubs not the Crown and pinion. If its the free wheeling hub then its defianatly a worthwhile upgrade. But if it is the C&P that fails i would still rather be breaking CVs.

If you were going to change knuckles you would just go back to Hilux then they fit perfect.

Re-Read what i said. If you are going to change KNUCKLES you would just go back to Hilux then they(30splinebirfs) fit perfect.

If you fitted 80 series knuckles then you will have steering arm issues and also need to modify the hub/cv to fit it.

Are the new 30 spline Longs for a Lux available ex Aus as yet.?

Emailed Snake Racing and received the following reply:
"A little lost with the quote on new axles ? we have had the CV's for over 2 years and the inner axles are made to order."

Cheers,
Leithfield

They should be available in around 3weeks in the US. Snake Racing prob knows nothing about this new style as yet. As they have not officially been released. But Bobby has a business relationship with Pirate4x4 so usually releases products on there early.

The Bell and Cage are being constructed out of 4340 and the star will be 300M. Longfield is not offering custom inner axles only stock length hilux. How ever Polly Performance can do the equivilant axle in any length at a price.

The new Longfields are only available as a set you cant buy the CV on its own. But at $630.00us for a full set its still afordable.

As soon as they are available i will be ordering a set direct though Bobby Long. Should land them here in Aus for less than $1000.

You could easily have a custom Long side made here in Aus.

He hasnt said exactly how much stronger but you only have to look at the material being used. I cant see myself breaking a set of these. Hopefully the free wheeling hub is going to be the weak point now. I would be happy to change these durring or after every comp rather than worry about how many more times my CVs are going to stand up. Not that i do worry all that much with the HTE CVs im running now but these new CVs will be so much stronger again.
