Any thoughts on this kit: http://www.rocky-road.com/samurai-coil-conversion.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Im seriously considering it if all other options for a coil lift kit are unavailable in Aus..

Please do shed light on this.. Cheers

That isn't a lift kit for a coil spring Sierra, it's a coil conversion kit for a leaf sprung Sierra. Two very diferent things.

What type of Sierra do you have?
The coil conversion would need engineering so I'd make sure before.

Also not sure if Glenn even makes those kits any more, his service can be a bit lacking sometimes

Oh righto...i thought id suit coily aswell.. My bad. Im picking up a swb soft top coily next week and have been researching for a decent coil setup to suit 31's n give good flex... Also read something along the lines of using Jimny diffs n coils?

You will find it hard to find a off the shelf set up that's good, trailing arms are a week spot with to much flex, the bend & snap...

Jimny diffs are a waste of time. They are no stronger, and employ the same binding radius arms.

Converting the front end to seperate shock and coil however is a big step forward.

Here is one I did a little while back. Has a WT front diff.

Also threw some links in, in place of the radius arms.

This is heavily bump spaced until a Virtual lift has been done. I estimate something like an additional 3" of uptravel will have been gained over stock once V/L is complete. Should scrub 31's, even with a B/L. The rear is also fully flexed due to its lower roll stiffness, so there is still another 2 or 3" of down travel to be had in the front end.

Thanks Gutless, i need to read up on the process of doing this, are there any threads of someone completing this mod? what size coils are recommended for 31's? At the moment i'll be picking up Dobinson 50mm Coils next week..

The one above uses 75mm lifted rear jimny coils in the front. It sits about 10mm lower than the 50mm lifted rear SJ80 coils in the rear.
