Depends on the LSD size.

Pajero rear diffs are 9" and larger. Pajero front diffs are 7.5" (some say 7.25"?) and 8". Do you see the issue? :D

Mitsubishi did install suitably sized LSD centres in Starions. Unfortunately, there's still a not insignificant following of early Mitsubishi road cars creating a demand for these, so they're not easy to find for sticking in a Pajero.

It was a popular concept before custom detroits were developed, and then came the air locker for the Pajero front. These days, I think it's still a reasonable performance improvement if you can find an LSD centre at a low enough price.

Better than an open diff, doesn't have some of the downsides of a lokka, not as expensive as an air locker, does have the advantage of "always on" - you don't need to think about "should I turn it on, or shouldn't I?"

I think for Patrols, where centres from early Navaras (?) can be bolted in relatively cheaply and easily, they're a little more common. For Mitsubishis, given the (lack of) availability of centres, it's not something too many will ever do - why fit a hard to find LSD if a cheap autolocker can be installed for less?
