Out with the old in with the new.....

So now in the for sale section you will see my GQ CoilCab for sale...
I've chosen wednesday to head to the dealership and sign the paperwork to give a brand new GU CoilCab a whirl, they look good and im certain the new 3.0 turbo engine has had most of the bugs sorted out, right?
When i sell the old truck, the new one is getting a 4" lift with all the good bits like super flex arms etc, prob over 5k worth of lift...
A power chip of some description, and a custom 3" zorst that has to sound deep and tough so im heading to the experts on that one.
Front locker and a few other little bits and pieces like a new 80ch UHF, ERPS, ra ra ra....

I dont want a slanging match but seriously when i looked at my options, the new coilcab seemed to be the right choice for me.
I will be requesting tints, a steel tray and winch bar/rails/steps be thrown in the deal.
So for about 55k drive away it seems ok to me..

Anyone got any input?

If your getting a chip get a chip that controls your injection timing and duration. There are a fair few chips which just control fuel rail pressure and this puts added strain on your fuel system pump, injectors, seals etc. The chips that control the injectors themselves leave the fuel pressure at factory spec and just change the duration and timing to make better power.

you make me feel like selling my old bus.
to the new, cruiser but i just love the old girl, hj47. :)

im waiting for the snow report, hopefully a saturday dump, as i usually work. pass that on for me.

um, i would hold off on the signing of the new ute.

rumour is they are bringing in a 6cylinder td in the wagon shortly, dont know if its this year...... logicaly it would be the 550ti out of the pathfinder/navara....
friggin hell youd want that donk!!

if you go through with it, i have word the current 3ltr inside resembles nothing of the 3ltr grenade of previous models.

no issues since 2008.

i can chase up the chit chat where i got it from, worker from nissan, soo his in the know....

mind you a mate bought a triton, 2.8, at the time he asked if they are bringing out a turbo, next model, they did, but the salesman said no, he had the time to wait for it, but on the salesman advice he bought the na 2.8.
been a great car though, drives it like a granny, wonder why i break stuff, because i use it what it was meant for, and age, and like to do the harder stuff.

id hold off if i was you, as if they wouldnt put it in the cab chassis youd be kicking yourself for years.....
give it a year, wont hurt, youve just redone your box, save a bit more coin.
surely nissan would have to put out the v6 to compete with the v8 landcruiser.

never trust a salesman, they want your money, and then your done with them. no coming back then.

Thats the thing, they have been good for the last 4 years. Thats why im prepared to give one a go. Im sick of having old gear.
If they did bring out a 6cyl diesel again and i really wanted it, id just sell it and upgrade, no big deal.

Im not really sure how many km i do per year maybe 50k? Id have to check my service book.

Steinbaurer is the way to go there. Been in a few cars with a few different chips and IMHO the stienbaurer is the way to go

Good luck with the purchase. As the others have pointed out. The CRD engine has not had the issues that the EARLY 3l Di engines had. They have been very reliable so far. :)

As for powerups. The CRD loves a 3" exhaust. Get one with a free flowing cat.
There are a lot of good chips out there now. Have a read of the link below.
There is a heap of good info in there. It's one of the best chip writeups in a while by someone that knows how to get the best out of an engine.
http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/nissan-p ... one-76200/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

On another note. Nissan currently don't have a replacement engine for the CRD. There is no magical V6 in the pipeline yet. The Y62 patrol is only planned to have a petrol V8 at this stage. They are planning on still selling the Y61 for those that want a diesel. Don't hold your breath for a bigger diesel in the near future.
