Thinking about changing injectors on my v8 ute, has anyone done them before? Im a mechanic but everyone I've spoke to hasn't had much todo with them, I'm wanting to know if the inlet manifold has to come of or can you get away with just the intercooler?

For the injectors only I think you only need to pull the cooler and maybe throttle bodies and upper manifold, just to access the common rails.
Then I think its just rocker covers and you can access the spill line and injectors.
Try to find the procedure at least, if not just buy the genuine workshop CD as there is a fairly involved procedure for ensuring the injectors all face the right direction exactly to stop leaks at injector lines or spill ines. It seems like a pin in the ass to fit injectors then dummy the rocker covers and lines in place just to dismantle and retension injectors, but have seen real problems caused by incorrect alignment causing fuel to leak into the engine oil if the procedure isnt followed.
Whats the reason for changing the injectors?
You will also need to write down the 30 digit compensation codes from the top of each injector and get them programmed into the ECU or you will get idle and economy issues. and will probably throw a fault code as well.
