Outer Limits 4x4 Board

G'day everyone
I'm looking into setting the pinion angle on my D22 Navara.
I'm trying to work out what angle wedges I will need

I've measured -
-2.1 degrees at the crankshaft/output shaft
-3.1 degrees the transmission 1/2 of shaft
-8.4 degrees at the diff's 1/2 of shaft
-6.3 degrees diff pinion angle

But I'm a little confused on working out what to do with these
Angles to get my wedge angle.

And I've read that I want the pinion pointing about
3 degrees above the output shaft is that right?

How high have you lifted it? Why do you need to change your pinion angle in the rear?

It about a 2" lift
I've just bought the car and it keeps flogging centre bearings
What's causing it is the tailshaft seems about 20mm short of reaching the diff
So when it's bolted up it distorts the centre bearing
And eventually tears it.
I thought maybe correcting the pinion angle may bring it
Back to alignment, if not I'll make a spacer to suit whatever gap remains.

I don't think the pinion angle is the problem. The hilux guys usually get a one piece shaft made, so that might be an option or you might be able to space down your center bearing, I had to do that on my BT50 and worked well.

Unfortunately the Bearing mounts are welded on so
To lower the bearing would envolve cutting and welding
And a 1 piece shaft I think I'll be up for about $800?
There must be something wrong with it, it seems like I've got the only navara
That this is happening to. Possibly the wrong shaft in it?
Whatever it is I just want to get it sorted without busting the bank too much!

surely the slip joint is on the diff side of the centre bearing???

You would think it would be on the diff side wouldn't you!
It's just got a slip joint on the transmission and no yoke on the shaft
So all the suspension travel/shaft movement goes through the bearing
