this maybe a silly question
but i'm interested in making a 2wd vitara 1992 swb
i know they made them in the states so parts are available but can i just remove the diff and drive shafts? will i need control arms or will th 4wd ones be ok?
i also want to fit a commodore v6 and T5 so use it as a tar circuit car as something different

You can just remove the diff and drive shafts but you will also need to plug the holes left by the drive shafts and locking hubs or you will get stuff in your wheel bearings. The rest is the same or close enough, I think that have a different stub axle that's about it.
