id advise against running the 1hz with the auto as its painfully slow.
but bellhousing is the same for the 1h series of motors
you will need the torque convertor for a 1hz to suit the torque curve of the diesel.

i should have mentioned it will be much more then a 1hzzz  will be turbo'd amongst other things... i have found an auto with bellhousing off of a 1hdt for next to nothing, just waiting for it to get freighted up. i was loooking at running a garret gt32ish size turbo being as its auto and all. what are peoples thoughts with the setup il be running.

ive driven turboed auto 1HZs and they were still slow.
the autos suck the power something chronic and they don't like staying at high revs to keep boost. they like to shift up a gear and drop off boost. handy on hills

id be looking at putting a 1hdt minium but preferably a 1hdfte and 5 speed auto in for the ultimate drive train.

Yea if I had a lazy 10g then I would fte it. Probably go down cummins road. Il give it a whirl with the auto and if it's hopeless il go 5 speed
