Hi all, im just wondering what the exahst temp is on a standard 12HT running compleatly stock.

i know every one on the earth states not to run the exaust temp post turbo above 550c but i am wondering what it runs completely standard....
shorly it gets hotter then this??
like people are pulling caravans up massive hills in standard cars with the foot flat and not even thinking twice about exaust temps and not having any issues.

has any one fitted a pyro to one and pushed it up a hill and seen what it got too?

Yeah probably goes way hotter than 550, problem is where will you find a bog stock new condition 12HT to try it on ?

550 post turbo is about what a stock 12ht runs at (perhaps a little higher).
Pre turbo run up about the 700 mark. This is probably a little higher than original from the factory but as you add mileage to them they tend to run a little richer. You could try turning your fuel down a little to see if that drops your temps a little(or turn your boost up a little). As you say they have been run for a long while with little thought of EGT's. It isn't that it doesn't do any harm but it is a long term sort of thing and unless the EGT's are extreme all the time (can cause all sorts of problems) then it is simply that it shortens the life of your motor,by how much, who knows.
