Well, You carnt tell.
Get yours rebuilt by a reptuble shop like MTQ For around $900 with a warrenty
http://www.mtqes.com.au/locations.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Or for a little more ($1175.90) you can chuck in a Garret CHRA, But you will need to check about a warrenty if your doing it your self.

Did you just call me a carnt?
Thanks Hamo,
But if Im going to spend that much, I will get 1 of graemes turbo's. But dont want to spend the coin just yet (other things invested). So I though it would be easiest/cheapest to just change the cartrige for the time being, with a new seal kit.

I don't believe Toyota do rebuild kits, or chra's, if a turbo needs repairing, Toyota replace it as a complete unit, or sell you a complete unit.
So I highly doubt the eBay ad is 100% legit.
Try Mellett turbo in the UK for reproduction parts for all major turbo manufacturers inc Toyota.

My CT20 sourced from a Surf was leaking oil when I installed it on my 3L motor so I rebuilt it with an ebay kit and had MTQ balance it.
That was two years ago and have had no issues since.
Not sure how much difference there is between a CT20 and 26 but this is how I did it:

Thanks ae86levin. A kit and reassembly of a stock turbo is very basic. If it was highflowed then its a whole other story. MTQ said they could ballance it for me and mark it for me to reassemble. Um going to be flicking this turbo in the near future anyway. But, I still dont want to use anything chinese. I wont really know anything until I put it out and check for play/wear/bearings etc. It may just need a new seal kit.

What in the world does that have to do with rebuilding/replacing a turbo?
A CT26 is a factory turbo charger built by Toyota. The chra is the centre part of the turbine.
