AU2 V8 Warning Light ?

It's a red flashing hand with a symbol of a car in the middle.

The mrs was driving home, and after stopping at the shops, she got about 100M after starting the car then the ignition cut-out. She managed to pull over. After a minute she started it up no probs and drove a short distance home.

The battery seems fine (although I'm giving it a maintenace charge now), there were no loose connection that I could see.

There is no mention of this warning symbol in the owners manual and my Gregory's manual is not at home.

Car doesn't seem to be in "limp home mode", I took it for a spin and it seems normal, maybe running a little bit rough, not sure.

There were no accompanying beeps before the engine shut down, but apparently the dash lit up like a christmas tree with all the lights on.

This warning light is flashing when the ignition is off, but disappears when engine is running.

Any ideas ?

Cheers

Forgot about this thread

Light must just represent a fault being deteced. I was lucky enough to borrow the scanner from work and 3 fault codes came up, the main one being the camshaft sensor. Replaced the sensors, cleared the fault codes, good as new. I was a bit intimidated by electronics in newer vehicles but those scanners are a piece of piss, It does it all for you

The red hand with the car in it (or is it a key in it?) is the smartlock light (smartshield on AU2 I think whatever same same)

Plug the scantool back in and try checking the immoboliser fault codes, probably something stupid, I have a feeling too many keys on the same keyring, especially another smartlock key, can interfere occasionally.
