Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Can anyone tell me the legalities when it comes to rebodying a vehicle in WA, ie a landcruiser chassis and hilux body. Obviously needs to be engineered, am wanting to know whats involved. Ive spoken to DOT but they didnt really answer my questions, just handballed it on to another person and then to another...
