Can someone pls help me, I have a hj60 5speed and it has just started to develop a ticking noise which is more noticable when cold and on the over-run and accompanied by a clicking sound every once and a while, my thoughts are this problem is worn mainshaft bearings. The 60 has 250k's does a fair bit of hard off-road work has anyone else had similar symptoms it's only done it for about 60k's since it developed so i'm hoping a bearing kit will fix the prob.

does it do it with the clutch in or out or both as a nosiey loose throw out bearing will have a knocking noise

hubs unlocked, it is similar in sound to if you try and engage 4wd without the front hubs locked in, if you have ever made that silly mistake (i have) but slower. Does anyone know what type of sound worn mainshaft bearings make?
