Noticed today that the tail and stop lamps on the GQ remain on with the key in the OFF position
Anyone encountered this b4?
Am no sparky, tried the usual things - checked some earths for what it's worth, as well as the relays, which one governs the brake lights I'd be buggered...
Just thought I'd try this before visiting the sparky and incurring $$$$..
Replies appreciated

Check the switch, under dash next to brake pedal. Disconnect it and see if they stay on. If they go out replace switch, if they stay on keep looking.

Remove the stoplamp/tail-lamp bulb and measure between ground and either of the 2 pins with a multimeter/test lamp to determine which circuit--stop lamp or tail-lamp is actually supplying the voltage keeping the lamps on when the ign system is turned off.
Once youve worked out which circuit is causing problems, start with a process of elimination: Check the lamps are earthing properly--bad earths can cause strange problems. If its a stoplamp circuit, check stoplamp switch or possibly a faulty trailer socket feeding a +12v hotwire feed into the circuit. If its tail-lamp, check headlamp switch or the trailer lamp socket again.
Good luck

I have had all sorts of electrical problems caused by mud in the trailer plug. Mud can act as a conductor.
