It should only cost you about $20 to $25 for it to get done anyway, cheaper than a slab anyway.

DIY !
If you have access to a compressor grab a $20 blaster gun & nozzles from
supercheap and a $10 10kg container of grit and go for it!
Hit my winch drum this arvo which came up perfect! Well worth the effort. Sand wouldn't touch the surface-rust and gunge on it but the grit nailed it eeezy... Ready for powdercoatage.
Oh yeah... don't forget the plastic faceshield unless you like that 'been to the beach' feeling in your facial orifices

will the supercheap sandblaster take paint off a cast alloy outdoor setting and some galvanized steel gates?
are there better(cheaper) sources of grit?
is there a type of sand that will work well/ok? (cheaper than grit)
had a look at supercheap and it seems they only sell a 10kg punnet of grit now for $15. WHich is between 30 and 100 times the price of sand >_< (depending on what sand)
