RIP Bobby Long - Father of Longfield Axles

Years ago I cold called a company in the US to try to get one of my first sponsorships in competitive rock crawling. Bobby Long jumped to help me and supported me hugely.
While I only got to meet him in person once, he was a great guy who helped so many in our industry in so many ways. I'm sure that many of you have run his product, in toyota front ends to start with, and then as his company grew so did his exposure. He set an industry standard on CV strength that was often copied but never rivalled. If you ever had the chance to talk to him you will know how passionate he was about helping people with their off road adventures, and I know I for one spent a lot on international calls talking about the Australian rock crawling scene with him and he jumped in to support several of us competing in WeRock and OzRock at the time.
Tonight I was extremely saddened to find out that Bobby lost his long battle to cancer. He fought hard for several years but he is now finally out of pain.
RIP Bobby.
