Fuel lines

G'day, I've got a 85 daihatsu rocky diesel. I tried to start it the other day and it wouldn't go. So after trying a few different things I figured that it wasn't getting any fuel. This was strange because I drove it fine earlier that day. Turns out I needed to take the fuel line off the block and use they and primer to get the fuel there. Problem solved... Until it happened again three days later. Then again 7 days later.it worked fine for a few days before the teocalli started again. Any ideas as to the cause?
Cheers

Sounds like you have an air leak at one of your connections or the anti drainback valve is leaking.

You can get a small check valve from an auto store and put it inline just before the inj pump. That will keep it primed

what he said... Cheapie low pressure pump in line = self priming system.

Yeah. A great way is what love mud said. Get a small electric inline fuel pump. It will do 2 things.

It will prime your system.

It will also reduce the pressure on the injector pump so that it will last longer and work better which means better power at your engine. Not a huge gain but a gain none the less.

But also as Zoltan said. Check for air leaks. Bad connections or cracks in the lines.
