Make sure the new chassi numbers are clean! Before starting any work.

As Sim said. You'll have to register it under the new chassis number so make sure you check it out with a VIN check before you start anything. Also make sure that it actually comes from a GQ and not a later model GU that had airbags etc.
Other than that it is pretty straight forward but a fair bit of work. A good idea to put new body mount rubbers on and also check for cracks in the usual places like the panhard mounts and the spring perches at the rear.
Don't try and do the dodgey thing by swapping chassis numbers. If you have an accident you may be held criminally liable and if you get found out at rego time they may ping you as well. Especially if its a stolen chassis or written off. Also look for any signs of an accident. If the chassis is already bare then measure between the two opposite corners and compare from one side to the other. Body mounts are another place to check for cracks and signs of an accident.

i ran dept of transport when i bent my chassis and they said i need a engineers cert for chassis swap.
But unsure if that is the case better of calling them and going through the steps.
Dont want to get to road worthy and get knocked back.
