Had the same problem when I had my disco. Research I did pointed to dirty earths on the starter solenoid and motor, when the car gets hot the resistance gets higher and there's not enough voltage to engage the solenoid. A cheap fix is to clean all the contacts on the stater and solenoid and the earth strap between the starter and chassis.
My starter was on the way out anyway so I put a new bosch unit in, but the battery half dead out didn't help either. I've now currently got my old starter in my 101 until it gets on the road where Ill replace it with a new bosch unit.

Is it turning over and not starting or Is it not doing anything when you turn the key or is it just clicking? if its turning ofwr but not starting i would be looking at the coil or dizzy. When it happens again get a cup of water and pore it over the coil to cool it down.
If its just clicking get the battery checked out as it could have a cell starting to shit it self. If it checks out fine then start looking at amp draw at the starter and earths.

Yep this happened to my defender after a long hillclimb I wouldn't be able to restart for about 10mins (or when it cooled down).

YOu need to check and make sure your altinator is ok. If its over charging it will kill this battery as well.
