80 series part time conversion.

Hey all, I finally splurged and bought a part time conversion from marks adapters.

Just wanted to know before I start ripping in to the transfer case, if there are any other parts I will or may need to complete the job.

The instruction manual provided is giving me a part number for a tapered roller bearing from the spool. They don't actually specify whether or not it needs to be replaced (or if it MAY possibly maybe need to be replaced). I am guessing it will be subjective to wear and tear.

I'm an apprentice mechanic myself so I don't think I will have any dramas, but just wanted some feed back to avoid being without a vehicle for a couple days because I forgot to account for anything in the process.

Cheers!!!

Doesn't the solid spool already come with a new bearing fitted?

The only part alot of people fail at. Is they don't line up the rectangle pump drive correctly and start tightening the alloy casing, cracking it.

Nope, kit comes with, free wheeling hubs, gaskets for hubs, shims for axle end float and the new spool. No bearing.

Guess I will see when I get in there. Just hate to be without a vehicle for a couple days, though I highly doubt that will happen.

Cheers for the reply.
