Ok, I've had this problem for a long time now and just put up with it. It's a GME TX3200, I did a bit of research on the web a few weeks back and came to the conclusion that it was the "RF MOSFET Amplifier". Local uhf repair shop wanted about $80 to fix it if that was the problem. Found the part from these guys http://www.glyn.com.au/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and cost of $40 counting delivery. It is located at the back of the unit behind a small plate held in with 2 screws. Need to take off the top or bottom plate to but can't remember which one. the amplifier has 4 small wires that are soldered on to the circuit board and are easily desoldered. Soldered on new one and it WORKS....... All up a 10 minute fix and I waited about a year and a half to do. :bad-words:

So hope this helps someone.....

Great info! Thanks for posting. :D

I don't suppose you remember the part number for the FET, or how you found the right part to order?

The number is on the part in the UHF at the back. Will post it up when I get home.

Get the antenna checked as often a faulty antenna, cable or incorrectly terminated shorted RF connector will casue the PA tranny to blow.
