fitting GME 3400 in a GU

hey just looking for some feed back here wheres the best place to fit a GME uhf 3400 into a GU? dont really want to do DIN mount ..
Overhead console?
not sure where please HELP

TX3400 has a remote head unit...... TX3200 is the pov unit....

yeh its the remote head unit ...
i saw someone mount it in front of the gear stick but it looks funny their and i wanted to fit it above but it wont look right hanging from the top either.

Replace the double DIN CD/tape player with a single DIN CD player and fit it a 4400 in the console. Who has tapes anyway?
Mines a GQ but same double DIN radio setup as standard. Good solid mounting too. Go see Harry at Telstat.

I have the 3400 head unit mounted just under the heater controls.
The Radio unit is attached with U-Bolts to the tube up above the glovebox (no passenger airbag)

i pulled the ashtray out
and stuck it in there.
fits like a glove.
*edit* - in a GQ - not sure if GU has a simliar sized ashtray.

where's the speaker on these units?
if behind the glove box can you hear it ok?

THE speaker is on main base of cb I have the boby in the glove box in my gq and brought a cheep external speaker from dick smith and mounted it under glove box now its LOUD AND CLEAR

Speaker in glovebox was fine but Ive added an external speaker since these pix were taken.Speaker is next to heater unit in passenger side footwell

hey thanks AJ for that will probably mount it the same way you have should have it done by tuesday am going up to ATECO for the weekend so dont have time.
