Hi All
My dash lights come on as normal when I start the car but the problem is they stay on until some speed is built up!! It still does it when driving around when I have to stop for traffic etc.. Car still runs fine.. Also the fuel gauge was not working so I put a new sender unit in it and it worked inaccurately for couple of days then went back to empty. I pulled the dash face out and tightened the terminal bolts and checked wires etc they were all fine. It then worked for couple of more days but each time it starts it goes up less and less and creeps down while driving. All other gauges work fine. It's on gas with no sub tank but if I press the sub button it shoots up to 1/2 tank. Anyone got any ideas. And yes it's full of fuel and that's not the reason it creeps down!!!!

Usually on the cruisers when all the warning lights come on together (alt, air filter, sub tank, etc), usually it's because the alt is not charging.

x2 My 60 series diesel and 80 series petrol both needed an alternator rebuild when all the lights come / stay on. Might be lucky and be earth to chassis or something.

When you say goes off when the speed is up, does it go away when you rev it up in neutral? If yes probably the alt.

Yes the lights do disappear when the car is revved over 1k mark or thereabouts. Thanks I will look into the alternator see if I can find anything visually wrong if not ill get it tested!! :)

spray it with some electrical spray might be enough to get it going again until you put new one in, it might also help it work for a few minutes for you to see the dash lights go out and confirm the issue.
