80 series air con troubles

Ive just had the clutch on my AC compressor give out It's that worn that the pulley is wobbling around by hand- I removed the belt.
Can I just replace the clutch on the front without interrupting the pump? Ie, so I won't need to regas it? It's only been gassed about 1000kms ago.
I thought the reason for the clutch going boom is tht the pump may have siezed. But I can turn the pump via a socket on the front bolt. It's a bit stiff but it turns.
Is this common? How do I remove the clutch? How much is a new/2nd hand pump?
Cheers
Luke.
