F77 Ute Parts Same As?

I have just bought a pretty rough 93 Rocky diesel Ute for use on a farm. I want to make it reliable so intend on doing a fair bit of work tidying it up.

Number 1 the suspension is very sad (broken front spring pack & shocks flogged out) and I am wondering how many parts I can exchange between other Rocky models & the utes?

I am guessing it will be much easier to find wagons wrecking rather than utes.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hey buddy,

It's pretty quiet in this section now. This is from my experience from rebuilding my rocky..prepared to get quite frustrated in finding good parts still! Ok, for your ute, you can put any rocky front doors on, from early to late models. Front guards are the same, although they did change from indicators being at the front of the guard to the rear of the guard at some point, or visa versa. The front headlight surround is a little trickier, they had a few different styles, I have a 87' cab with a late model surround, so it is possible. I put a 94' dash I think into my 87' cab and it fit perfectly so dashes are all the same I assume. I also have a feroza instrument cluster which bolted straight into the dash no worries and all the plugs lined up and work. I also am using a feroza steering wheel on rocky steering column so their spline count is the same.

I'm not sure about the late model front guards with the flares..that may be a different story.
What other questions do you have?

Michael

hey mate, ive got a ute and a few short and mid wheel base ones. the front springs out of them all look the same. the rear in the ute runs a spring over setup which has different length leaves from what i can see than the sprung under rears of the mid and short wheelbase. the motors and boxes all swap around diesel to diesel etc. the early 85 gearbox seems to have a smaller transfer output flanges than all the other years so measure the flanges if you swapping unknown boxes. you should be able to get all the wheel bearings and brakes etc no problems. the ute is a very tuff work truck. keep it running mate. cheers brenton
