Landcruiser 105 lift & 35's

I have a 105 cruiser (gxl) full time 4wd. I would like to run 35's on it. I have been told that I need 4-5" lift to fit these.
Here is my prob, every 4wd shop will tell me they are better then the next. Could someone recommend a shop to do the work. I live at Nowra south of sydney, so newcastle is a bit far.
Thanks

Whoo hoo, hard core 105, about time
Depends on your wheels offset...
I ran 35x12.5x16 with a 4" spring lift no probs whilst on the standard offset 8" rims. With 8x16's I reckon the 35's would have worked ok with just a 2" lift.
Once I moved the same tyres to 10" wide offset rims (sick of bashing guards into the walls) 2" of body lift was a must have to let the wheel articulate through the full range, full stretch to bumpstop.
37's might even be on the cards, but getting it past the B&C is the trick.
Point is if your only want is to shove 35's in under the guards then 2" may be all you need. Insurance wise as well.

A mate has a 100 that has 50mm body lift and used to have a 4inch spring lift and runs Q78 with no issues. He has since taken out the big springs so it handles a bit better and now they foul a bit. I think he's gunna cut the guards to solve the prob.

Just checked out the body lift (post). & site (LilBlkDuck)
Starting to think maybe 2" body lift & 4" spring.
With 4" spring can you still retain f/t 4wd or do you have to go p/t ?
Do you need caster correction plates or just caster bush.
Starting to think i may try it all my self .
I'd have to save a few $$$ this way.
Anyone recommend shocks & spring type .

Can't think of any reasons why a spring lift would impact running in 2 or 4WD, hasn't stopped me!
I can't understand why people complain about FT.4WD fullstop? I love it, especially on road and in the wet. At 2Tons+ cruisers need all the help they can get.. As for the added wear, If you can't afford to maintain it you shouldn't have bought a cruiser in the first place.
For the 80 the offset castor bushes were all that was required, also cheaper and easier to do, however I believe that plates are the go if you wish to retain your original rubber and therefore retain better flex.

I settled on Dobinsons Springs and 4Way Toughdog 45mm Adj. With the front spring rate I've left enough extra up front to accomodate the bar and winch coming early next year. So for now my front ends a little light. To help this along I added a 4way RTC steering stabiliser.
As for the Shock's so far they're ok, I love the adjustability they provide, they definitely soften up nicely for the fun stuff. As for fade issues? I spend more time playing in Toolangie or the Otways than I do running the Canning stock route.

Hi,
I have a Twin Locked Petrol 105 and run 35" Centipeeds for playing and 33" BFG Muddies for every day driving.
I have a 5" lift with Ranchos and 40mm Packers in the rear (Too much crap in the back !!)
With the sway bars off performance on the rough stuff is awesome
35's would probably fit with a smaller lift but you would need to modify the mud flaps at the front, I have also put beefier lower control arms on the rear.
Castor plates and brake line extension brackets were also required and it was all done by Mannell motors. The only issue I have is with the front tail shaft vibrating which to be fair Nick warned me may happen, solution is a double cardan unit which has to be custom made.
Have Fun
Rob

Guess the extra inch of spring travel makes all the difference, at 4 inches as I mentioned I got away with just the castor bushes. With 4"spring and 2" Body I don't get any noticable vibe throught the front at all??? Go figure. Would lurve some HD rear lower trailing arms with Mogs joints.
Mmmmmogs....

call Nick on 02-9980-8855.
he did my 7 inch spring & 2 inch body lift but we were running 38 inch boggers, try a stay away from the bodylift & just go with the 5 inch springs, then you don't have to worry about loose or flexing mounts.
I think there was a write up in one of the recent 4wd monthlys in regard to the tough dog 5 inch kit.
anyone remember which issue
