get guys had a search but cant seem to find what I m looking for. I m building my tray on my hilux and want to make the rollbars CCDA approved so if I ever comp it it'll be easier to considering I will have the rollbars already done.
I've read and looked at the pictures but it didn't answer my questions so
my question is the bars that come down from the top of the rollbar down to mount to the tray. how wide do they have to be? is there any rules or regulations?
also do they have to be straight or can I bend them to suit(make it look better and mould around toolbox(for styling purposes and to make it easier to remove my spare tyre???))
if I can figure out how to do pictures with drawings I will
regards Cohen

The stays can't be bent as it then becomes a weak spot

cheers 94 lux. I didn't think the rollbars could be bent cause in te pic they were straight but I thought id ask.
ive seen that page that's where I figured out how I had to do it. but see in page 3 where its tray ounted rollbars. the posts that come back from the top I get they are a minimum of 30* but it doesn't say how wide they have to be (ie minimum 100mm from outside or maximum 500mm from outside)
as I want to mount them 450mm from the outside so I can mount toolboxes each side of the tray and still have my 35" tyre in the middle.

Oh I see what you mean, I thought they had to stay as near to straight as possible. Also interested to find out this regulation. Maybe you should PM David metcalfe. His name on here is xtreme mmm I think

Read the word ruling not just the pictures. It says fairly clearly what is required for back stays

I don't see what you mean. Please explain. I've read it and asked a few people around and I seem to figure out what. Please answer if you know

Thats good then.
There are a heap of rigs currently getting new cages built because they were too cheap to do it with tube the first time and still want to compete.
