75 exhaust vs ARB scrub bar clearances

Post by Canyonero 4x4 »

Evening folks,

I have a 1990 75series TroopCarrier, with 1HZ, extractors into a 2.5" pipe. This was on when I purchased it so I have no idea how it is relative to factory design. Now it has come time to fit a turbo and I wish to fit atleast a 3" system to it. The issue is if I buy an off the shelf exhaust kit and fit it myself I am concerned it will interfere with the mounting arm of the scrub bar under the drivers door. It currently clears by a bees dick so if a new 3" system takes the same line, it will certainly foul.
So I want to know the clearance of other systems to work out what might fit or how much clearance the stock system has.
The scrub bars are by ARB. The exhaust, NFI.

The other options are
A: buy a kit and hope for the best, have it modified if need be
B: have it custom made, pay the extra loot and forget any hassles

I hope that makes sense.

Cheers for any help.

A 2 1/2 system would be huge for a turbo 1HZ . Just get the exhaust shop to do a mild steel system with normal bends cheap as chips.

It's a 1HZ, not a race car, don't waste your money to get 1% extra performance.

Not a bad idea. Just had a look but there's not much room between the transfer and the chassis, especially with the fuel lines, air lines, breathers and everything else that's already in there. :x

Can anyone actually tell me what size exhaust they have and how much it clears there scrub bar by on their 75?

I'm going to take it to a few exhaust shops in the morning and see what can be done.
