engine & casting numbers ???

I've lost the link I had for getting info from the engine numbers & casting numbers for the chev motor.
It wa posted on this forum some time back and I'm damed if I can find it.
any -one got a good link handy ????

found one for head cast numbers.
do you want the 4 digit date numbers? or what block numbers represent.

my manufacture date was 28L6 (i think)
28 means the day
L means the month
6 means the last digit in the year it was made. (1976 as my block was only available in 1969-1978.)
or did you want the block number ie. 3970010?
