Good Insurance

Just wondering what most of you guys, particularly the more modified guys do get insurance? if so at approx. what cost and who through?
I own a couple of soft top 40's one of which is pretty modified and don't like my chances and I know a few guys here in bundy that race which have the same problem? Mainly looking at theft as there have been a few go missing and being stripped for parts, so the cops will never see them again.
I have currently changed rolls at work and I believe I may have the best/cheapest solution for people like me. Just wanting to get a bit of feed back in how other people are getting around it, as I have seen a lot of missing car post's in recent times
cheers guys.

I'm with Shannons.
No mod too big, even have race cover, if I ever wanted it, I have NO idea on how much it costs though
I would recommend them to any one

Shannon's.
This is on a supercharged DAKAR Range Rover insured for $30,000.
Premium was around $500.00.
Be aware it has limited drivers and low K's use.

Dunno. Try Shannon's....
I have the jeep with lots of mods with Shannon's. you can have limited kms cover, even convert it to Parked up cover if the rig is in bits undergoing an extended rebuild etc. premium for $30k was about $550.

I have been leaning another way. From talking to some of the other guys and myself alike, we use our trucks on a daily basis still and most insurance don't want to touch our rigs. Shannon's seems pretty expensive and seems to limit the use of the vehicles somewhat.
our main concern is theft and having the car stripped down (which has happened to my step father) as they are way to noticeable on the road to be taken for Joy Rides. It's one thing to get paid out but its another to spend the years to build it again. And we are always doing mods much the same as everyone on here I guess.
I have been looking at Navman vehicle tracking from my work. It will cost me $38 per month and $1600 for the hardware. I Figure the best insurance is being able to know exactly where my truck is if something is wrong so I can tell the cops and not mess around for days searching for it when its usually to late anyway.
And I would be able to use it to track my Klm's for work so I don't have to keep writing it down everyday
Seems to do more than just insurance.
What do you guys think?

Thats all well and good if your car is pinched but do anything for you if you crash into someone or the car is stolen and burnt out

yes shannons.
that's my next move
an extra 8dollars premium, on the policy gets you your car back, if written off..
expensive engine conversions
aren't a big loss that way.. as long as its not nicked
and as mentioned, they cover parts lying around too

Fair point about being written off, but of that does happen (touch wood), I'd still get to strip the parts i want/need. As too hitting someone well i would be no worse off than i am now with out insurance. And the whole point is finding it before it gets burnt out, as I will be able to see when the ignition is on let alone see were they are to the meter. And if need be can set up notifications so it tells me when it's on (if its shed bound for a while)
