hey guys,
just looking for some general advice and info! All to do with the rear shocks.
I'm just interested to know what the advantages are of inverting the shocks to go horizontal in the rear. Is it mainly just to gain more flex? what are the positives you get out of it?
Looking at doing it to my 94 duel cab!
cheers guys!

Basically, running the shocks in an / \ type setup allows you to run longer shocks, giving more shock travel. And matched with a spring setup such as IFS rears, for example, more rear suspension movement is easily gained.
However, the way Yota have the stock rear shock mounting, its designed to somewhat help prevent axle wrap. So depending on the springs youre running, you may need to get a track bar, or anti wrap bar.

The more you lean them in at the top, the less effective they are. They allow more flex, but also control body roll less.

yeah I've got a 94 model Hilux (duel cab) and im looking for more flex and maybe and inch or 2 higher.
its just my weekender and hopefully one day will be more comp truck like!
atm its got just standard springs and 2" shackles, what do you recon I should do/go for? I know its entirely up to me but an opinion would count!
cheers guys

My advice would be to check out build threads here to see what other people have done, go wheeling with other Luxs and see what theyve done. Theres alot of different ways to make leaf springs work, and it will mainly come down to personal preference, budget and how much you can do yourself.
Use the search function here, google, check other forums and fb too.
