I would like to welcome ARB on board for the 15th year of the ARB XWC.

ARB have been the naming sponsor in 42 of 45 Rounds over the 14 years of this event and have supported the XWC in the highs and lows of some very tough economic times here in Australia.

Due to their support and the support of competitors & supporters I have enjoyed running this event over the years and look forward to many more years of the ARB XWC.

The ARB XWC is the longest running event of its type in Australia and the only event that is run between 2 states and different venues.

Look forward to catching up with everyone on the 7th February at Landcruiser Mountain Park.

Yes Steve it would have been great to see you in your beast, or just you.

We now have 14 confirmed, with a possible 3 or 4 more.

I have started a list of new, old, sponsors & officials and that count is 85. This is going to be a good weekend.

Saturday night will be conducted on the main stage at the Expo area, please bring a chair and if in a group a table.

We will be serving burgers and cold drink, but it is BYO strong drinks.

Cheers

Well what a day.

Davo, Troy and myself managed to finish Friday nights SS. 1 short sprint followed by 2 winch type stages with possible 2 winches in each.

Found all of Saturdays SS with 2 fully marked and 2 more have had some bunting done. Expect 3 winches in 3 of these, the other one has a few surprises in. And the sprint SS just have to have some bunting hung before the start.

Don't forget briefing times for the weekend.

If the weather is fine (which it is going to be) Saturday night will be at ARB XWC Base, Trakka Terrace, if raining it will move to the stage area.

I have Heather Eddy's "Celebration of Life" tomorrow at Albany Creek Crematorium at 12 noon, I will pass along to Bob all the comments that I have received from the extended Xtreme Family. Thank you everyone.

I have left Davo & Troy to finish some of the SS. I will return first up o n Wednesday morning, so I am contactable by phone until Wednesday mid morning.

Cheers

Well what a weekend, I would just like to thank my sponsors again:-

ARB , Aliant Foods Greg Robertson), Superior Engineering, Dynamic Wheel & Tyres (Chris & Chrissy Hummer), Asl Lightstorm Led (John & Wendy), Allsetsprings, All 4x4 Parts (Fester Binnie), Mickey Thompson Tyres (Jeff Newick), Exedy Clutches ( Malcolm Page ), LandCruiser Mountain Park, The Springs 4x4 Park, Team Telstra (Darren Barby & Tony)

To my Officials, without you I could not have done this:- David Hobbs, Stephen Kelly, Jason Jones & boys, Cornelius Graham, Clay & Joel Mongan, Wayne Passfield, Duncan Stickles, Mel Jones & Karen, Belinda Trusz, Shane Harris & Paul Walker.

To my 2 key workers who helped me set this up making my job so much easier, Troy Metcalfe & Ian Davison. Thanks again.

Big thanks to the press & photo crew, Shane Gerrish 4WDTV, Shantyl Lye for DirtComp, Guy Marsh for MMM.

Catering, for without you we would starve:- John Leeson, Darren Burgess, Peter Clark & Buggsey. Also thanks to Louise Davis & Renee Driscoll for helping out Saturday night.

It was great to see all the old faces again, but had no real time to sit back & talk to them, thank you for making the effort to come to the 15th February ARB XWC. Maybe a bbq at the beach somewhere for catch up next time?

We started with 19 Teams and by the end we had 17, bad luck to Greg Jackson & Brent Griffin after a bad hick up in SS1, but at least you guys were ok, be good to see it back on the road. Also vehicle #10 Claytons Racing Hilux which was dragged out of the shed cleaned and checked the oil after a long time sitting in the shed retired on Saturday afternoon, pity because it was still competitive after all these years. Ask Mike when we would see him back and he said the 20th anniversary, hopefully we will see that happen.

Just wanted to thank everyone for there support and help on Friday afternoon.
Particularly Claytons towing for letting me use there tilt tray to get my car back to camp and then back on my truck, would have been difficult without it. So thanks again.
I all so want to thank all the family and friends that travelled to support us and see Brent for his Bucks night before he ties the knot. It was a lot of fun. Just a pity I wrecked the car before they got to see it.
It was great to see all the people that we used to race with when we first started. I used to watch those guys in ore back in the early 2000`s. Outback and XWC DVD`s.
As for the car we pulled the cab of it and its not as bad as we thought, a friend has been kind enough to give us a cab , so we will be back at some stage.

Cheers
