legality is over rated. A set of these would mean swampers as road tyres. A true sign of a hardcore wheeler

DOT approval means nothing in Australia, it is only a US thing. Some of the Big michelins are DOT approved, but also have a special note "legal for road use in Australia and Europe"

Legal speed rating in Vic for commercial vehicles, as far as I am aware, is 110kph, (which is as fast as you can legally drive anyway... and faster than either of your POS will go  (hehehe that's big from me in the G and with my planned Zuk gearing)

They will have plenty of load rating too, so that'll be no worries.

75mph is over 110 KPH (just)..... Sweeeeeet

Should be legal.... 'cept for the size.
More legal than swampers though.

er, speed and load rating?
I'm still sure that DOT is only for the US market and has no bearing here, although anything with speed and load will likely have DOT as well.

dot is the department of transporation here in u.s. far as i know the standards used are pretty strict so if it's got dot approval/ratings on it.. then you should be set.. no worries... that'll be some mean crawlers you got on there.. should get some decent road time as well.

Unfortunately it isn't as simple as that, our standards are different to the US.

I think Pro Comp sell them here in Melbourne.

BTW, US standards (FMVSS) are generally fairly lax in comparason to Australian Design Rules.

DOT mark does sometimes comply in OZ when combined with speed and load rating with wear indicators.

However 35 inch or bigger tyres on a Zook, does DOT approval or "E" mark really matter. They won't be legal anyway.

didn't say they wouldn't be cool. They would be. All i was saying was that the size would not be legal on the car so who cares about the markings.

Bias ply Q78 swampers have a US DOT rating (140 kmh) The 1978 Range Rover that I built Nigels Hybrid (4wd Monthly} from did not have a speed rating tyre placard so we were able to get engineering approval for them.
If you have a late model vehicle you are basically stuffed.
