some electrical probs

I have a 1984 hj47 diesel troopy and i have a few electricl probs, first is my battery wont charge... second is the altmeter dont work.. and third my tacho
wont work either... are any of these problems conected? i think the tachos sender is stuffed, but where da hell is it? anyone know..

I would go straight to an auto electrican, don't pass go & don't collect $200

start with fuses,relays etc....
then trace wiring and you'll find something wrong

charging problems can only be a few things - alternator, regulator, wiring, fusible link
tacho sensor on H/2H motors I think is on the alternator
alt meter? you mean volt meter? well that's probably pointing to the alternator too.
an auto electrician should be able to diagnose it quickly and cheaply BUT find one who is confident to work on toyota diesels, if he has no experience with them, back away before any money changes hands - there are wiring tricks and traps all over the place on these machines that can have even very good auto elecs scratching their heads if they've never played with one before.

I would avoid going straight to the sparky.
Voltmeter - Start from the voltmeter and work your way back, checking for voltage at every connector and plug until you either find a break or power, if you are getting voltage to the voltmeter, then take it to a sparky.
