Do they have serial numbers stamped in the side of the tanks near the drain bungs?

Now that I am off my phone, I can type for real.
Trying to identify a fuel tank I bought. I was told it was for a GQ/GU, rear main long range tank.
The 3 mounting hole spacing front and rear measure correctly. The BrownDavis website lists the same tank for both vehicles, where as the Long Ranger site lists different tanks for the 2 vehicles. Its not a Long Ranger tank. The only ID mark I can find is a serial number stamped into the side of the tank near the drain bung. There obviously used to also be a sticker on the side above the stamped number, but that has now gone. It looks the same as the pic on the Brown Davis site.
Tank was a bit of a bargain, which is why I took the gamble. Small crack in the bottom, now repaired with 2 part tank repair epoxy. Drain bung needed redrilling to suit a larger size and retapped with new thread to suit larger bung- they had stripped the thread on the tank, that's why it was leaking wonderboy. 4 tek screws held the sender unit in place. 2 tek screws broken off in theholes. One removed, and the second drilled out, and all 6 holes redrilled and retapped to suit larger stainless steel allen key bolts. Tank repainted. Total cost, above the $100 purchase price was about $30.
Just a shame it had to come into my hands after our trip across the Simpson.

Job done, although it appears to be a tank built to suit a body lift. So, I have got around this by putting a piece of galvanised 50x50x3mm box section between chassis mounts and tank mounts, with the high tensile mounting bolts suitably longer. It doesn't hang too low- and this is more for a tourer than a hard core offroader.
