G'day,

I know it's not tech but just stumbled over a Dana 44 front (and rear) diff on eBay http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/221490939931?nav=SEARCH" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Old mate listed it under 'cherokie chasis' so it's hard to find (cheap/no offers). It's the commonly referred to (US) "Waggy" diff. It'd make a good swap for TJ's and XJ's etc due to the larger centre, 30 spl axles, spindles (wheel bearings) instead of unit bearings - means you can unlock the front hubs, and the 6 bolt hubs.

I'd get it myself but my TJ's already got an ARB and a HP D30 should last ok with only 33's.

I tried to post on Ausjeep too cos these are hard to come by but I can't remember my login :I

If it's from a quadratrack wagon, the front diff pumpkin will be on the right. TJ has the front pumpkin on the left.
You could get a front D44 from a NP208 ( ie non quad die) wagon, but the pumpkin is way to the left, making it a bitch to find the room to mount a coil spring perch, shock mount, control arm mounts etc.

Added to that, FSJ diffs ( from 4 doors) are about 58.75 inches wms-wms, about 2 and a bit inches narrower than TJ.
You could find a set of wide tracks from a Chief 2 door, but rare.

Stock ratios on most V8 waggys are 3.31, iirc.
